Assalamu Alaikum
I'm Abdullah Ali Jama (Aydid). I was born in Saudi Arabia in 1992. Alhamdulilah I am happily married and together my wife and I have our boys, Ammar and Bilal. Call me Abu Ammar if you will :)
I started my Quran journey at a young age in Saudi Arabia, learning proper pronunciation before memorization. This laid a strong foundation for me. Later, I moved to Syria and was fortunate to study Tajweed, Creed, Fiqh and Arabic Grammar under knowledgeable scholars. Armed with correct pronunciation, Tajweed and the understanding of Arabic language, I began memorizing the Noble Quran successfully completing it 2014.
I would not be who I am without my Quran teachers. From the teacher who taught me the Alphabet, Moalin Ali, all the way to Sh. Mohamed Al-Jammali who I completed the memorization of the Quran with and received an Ijaza from, with a high and noble chain of narrators.
In the halaqa, Sh. Mohamed urged us to each teach one person, and I decided to take up the challenge. Little did I know that this small act would have such a profound impact on my life. As I began teaching, I discovered a deep sense of fulfillment that I had never experienced before. Teaching was no longer just a job for me; it became a calling, a mission that pushes me to constantly improve myself and strive for excellence.
Alhamdulilah, I have been given the opportunity to have helped in the graduation of multiple students who have memorized the Quran. It fills me with joy to know that I played a part, no matter how small, in their journey towards the memorization of the Quran. I sincerely ask Allah that He accepts their efforts and allows them to grow into individuals who possess a profound understanding of the Quran and Islamic principles, enabling them to contribute positively to the community.
I hope to one day see my students embrace a similar path and become teachers themselves, passing on the knowledge they acquired and building on it some more. Knowing that my students could pass down that knowledge from one generation to another would be the ultimate wish, serving as a continuous charity (Sadaqa Jariya). May Allah accept. Ameen.
I must say, Sh. Mohammed Abu Ras also played a significant role in shaping me into the teacher I am today. I had the honor of being his right hand in his Tahfeeth Program, and through that, I had the privilege of reciting a full khatmah (complete recitation of the Quran) to him. I would like to share a video that beautifully captures one of those invaluable moments. (This happened during recess time hence the children's voices in the background)
